Galatians ~ Watch Videos
In the time of Yeshua, there was a rabbinical system with Pharisees (2 sects) and Sadducees. Among these sects, there was disagreement and debate on how to follow the Torah. In Matthew 15:1-2, we read: “Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Yeshua, saying, Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?” The tradition of the elders (or oral torah) is the Pharisaic system of how they interpret following the Torah. In this system, they believed that the rabbis had the authority to make rulings on Torah that would be binding upon the people. The Talmud contains the teachings of the rabbis and their rulings. The Pharisees were really asking why Yeshua’s disciples were not following the rulings of the rabbis, or the oral Torah. Yeshua was teaching his disciples a way of following the Torah that was very different from what the Pharisee's and Sadducee's taught from the Talmud.
The burning question was not IF believers were to follow the Torah; the issue was HOW to follow the Torah correctly. Learn how these same issues in Yeshua’s time are still being debated today. How do we follow the Torah today? Are we following Torah as Yeshua taught us to? Or are we following the Torah of the Pharisees? Have the traditions of man crept into how we follow Torah today? How do we recognize and discern that? Listen as Eddie addresses these questions as he teaches from the book of Galatians.
